The Keys to the Headdress: Elegance

A headdress is an accessory typically worn to specific events and celebrations, although its use is becoming very fashionable, reviving old customs with the elegance that characterizes this accessory.

Thanks to the proliferation of young designers and the frequent use of headpieces at weddings, today we have very affordable options and can even create our own designs, buying our headdress materials and/or attending practical courses.

A headdress will stand out, above all, for its originality.

The use of flowers, feathers, rhinestones, veils, and other available accessories are just a small part of the extensive variety of materials you can use to create a headdress.

Headpieces and hats can be worn at any time of day; while there is a protocol to follow for certain circumstances, as a general rule, you can wear them whenever you want.

Focusing on the elegance of the headdress, it is important to know that during the day you can wear larger and more elaborate headpieces; in the morning and midday, striking headpieces take center stage and can create a spectacular impression, along with elements like feathers, flowers, or textiles. Combined with shorter or longer dresses, they will stand out perfectly.

As the day progresses, the size of the headdress becomes smaller (as our dress gets longer). With a long dress, our headdress must be more discreet so that both can complement each other well. This does not have to diminish the originality of the headdress, since the night allows us to play with shiny materials, rhinestones, silver and gold colors...

The way we place the headdress is also important; the shape, size, and style of the headdress will condition this aspect, but we can be guided by a generalized rule:

The headdress is placed slightly tilted to the right side.

This "rule" comes from the old custom where the woman walked to the right of the man, although there are places, such as in the United Kingdom, where this rule is reversed: the woman places the headdress on the left side... Does this have to do with them also driving on the opposite side?

What is clear is that the general rule indicates that the headdress should be placed slightly to the side, except for those that are too large and must be placed centered on the head.

An elegant headdress should have a simple and natural appearance.

Naturalness ensures success in many aspects, as it implies being comfortable, being oneself, and therefore, gives us more opportunities to give our best. The accessories we use, including the headdress, must maintain balance and harmony, for which simplicity helps a lot.

See you soon!
