The Keys to the Headdress: The Hairstyle

Your hair also has a lot to do with choosing a headpiece that flatters you. After all, a headpiece is also a hair ornament, an accessory that must match your hair. Let's discover useful tips to make the most of your image when you place a headpiece on your beautiful head!

:)

Both headpieces and fascinators can be worn with loose hair; however, there are headpieces with which it is more advisable to wear a tight hairstyle to ensure a good, secure, and effective placement.

Depending on the type of headpiece we are going to wear, we have several tricks or tips at our disposal to make it shine in all its splendor once placed on our hair.

What are the most suitable hairstyles for each headpiece?

★ A headband or a ribbon will look wonderful with loose, well-combed hair, adapted to the design of the headpiece/accessory used.

Embellished headbands are a resource that adds a great touch of glamor and is easy to combine, as they look good with both loose, straight hair and elaborate buns.

★ Tiaras and veils combine very well with wavy hair, as they create a beautiful abundant effect; style your hair with soft waves to one side. Place it on the opposite side to where your waves are directed; it will create a beautiful swaying effect.

★ A veil is an accessory that looks equally good with long or short hair; for long hair, the trick is to use a light, flowing veil that adapts to the waves of your hair, although it is ideal to use a short veil (if you add embroidered details, you will achieve maximum elegance and femininity).

★ Flower crowns look divine with both loose and updos, always adding that romantic and innovative touch. You can also try exotic flowers!

★ A turban is very exotic and original. You can wear it tied, with ornamentation, as a scarf or headband, with both loose and updos. The secret is in the knot!

★ With a fascinator, we have complete freedom to choose loose or updos. You can even add tulle!

★ Semi-hat headpieces, with their great classic touch, look perfect with loose hair or with a low updo (like a bun or braid).

★ A disk headpiece or a cap-style headpiece will always be much more flattering with tight hair or styled to one side.

★ Wear feather headpieces with a bun or updo, without bangs and placed laterally at medium height. You will radiate elegance! You can use hairpins or headbands to secure them.

★ Flower headpieces are extremely romantic; use them with updos, so that the floral part covers the hair fold and is slightly to one side, at neck height. They are also ideal with loose hair!

★ The boater hat can be worn straight or slightly tilted, with both loose and updos. A youthful look is guaranteed, and you can also decorate it with veils, feathers, flowers...

We have seen various types of headpieces and tips for styling our hair to make the most of this accessory. They will surely be useful for many!

You have already seen that having short hair is not a problem for wearing a headpiece in an unbeatable way; you don't need long hair to look beautiful.

Haven't you ever heard the expression "less is more"?

You can use headbands or veiled headpieces, accessories with feathers, flowers, or rhinestones; you will achieve a very elegant and distinguished style for your face. In fact, tiaras and short hair are one of the most explosive combinations; try a headband with shiny stones and you'll see! And don't forget that flowers, whatever their material, will always add a very feminine touch (which at first glance can compensate for the masculine image associated with short hair).

And one last tip to remember!

Just like with your skin color, your hair color will influence the effect you create with your headpiece. The idea is to create contrast, yes; but within a balance. A light-colored headpiece looks much better on brown and dark hair, while a dark-colored headpiece looks perfect on blonde hair.
