Today, in my new chapter of "
Feathers Seville," I'm going to talk about the craft of the plumassier.
On another occasion, I told you about Maison Lemarié and the craft of the florist; this magnificent house also has a superb team in the plumassier trade.
Honestly, if there's one important thing in a collection, it's the fabrics. A bad choice can ruin the designs. However, a good choice can leave us speechless, making us fall completely in love the moment we can touch it. Feeling the delicacy of the sweetest materials like silk or the rigidity of others, this is where Lemarié and its crafts come in.

Maison Lemarié is the only house specializing in feather embroidery that remains in France, respecting the environment, of course. The house receives strictly controlled feathers from all over the world, which are treated and dyed upon arrival.
If this alone makes you want to get started in this wonderful world of the plumassier, our
feathers for headpieces will amaze you.
The craft of the plumassier
The essential part is finding the perfect feather for each job. This task can take hours and hours, as finding the right combination between fabric and feather is not so simple. I love mixing textures, but not all combinations are harmonious. After this search, the dyeing begins, which requires experience in color theory. The shape to be given is also important; for this, the first step is cutting, and then they are manually inserted into the fabric. Creating a sample is important for the designer who commissioned the work, as it is a delicate and artisanal job that takes time. If the designer agrees, the order begins.
A creative job, with endless possibilities, we await you at
tocados y abalorios.
