How to make sinamay flowers

A few weeks ago, we told you how to use a sinamay fascinator and all the alternatives you could choose with few resources. This time, we'll tell you how to make sinamay flowers in a few simple steps. Sinamay fabric is used to make fascinators, similar to tulle fabric. On our website, you'll find a wide variety of colors, styles, and types. The following materials will be needed:
  • Sinamay fabric material (colors of your choice)
  • Sinamay teardrops*
  • Sinamay ribbon
  • A small styrofoam ball
  • Adhesive tape
  • A wooden stick (approximately 30 cm long)
  • Spray adhesive or hot glue gun
  • Two small washers
*Which you can find on our website. First, the petals must be made separately. Start by cutting the sinamay fabric into different sized squares to make the various petals. To do this, bring the four opposite corners together at one end and twist the fabric to secure it. Shape it with your hand to create a concave form. After that, cut the styrofoam ball in half. Take one half and cover it with sinamay fabric, joining and gluing it along the flat part that won't be seen. Then, insert the washers into the concave part, leaving one centimeter of space between each. Apply glue to the ends that we joined so they don't loosen. A small bridge should be formed to allow the ribbon or string that will tie both rings to pass through. Next, insert the wooden stick through the flat side, applying hot glue or adhesive right in the middle. Let it dry very well to ensure it is secure. After this, begin placing the petals. From smallest to largest, until the desired size is achieved. They should be glued to the flat base of the ball, slowly and carefully until the glue or silicone dries. Once this is done, the flower will be ready. As an optional step, it can be complemented with the stem, which is easy enough to make. Take the remaining half of the styrofoam ball and make a hole with the wooden stick you had at the beginning. The next step is to adhere it to the sinamay fabric until it dries. Finally, thread the ribbon through the rings you inserted at the beginning, tying and closing with a bow. Done! This is one of the various options we provide you with materials that you can easily find on our website. Go ahead and be creative!
